Samantha Gadd is dedicated to transforming how organisations approach employee experience (EX). As the Founder and CEO of Excellent and Founder and Director of Humankind, she has spent over a decade working alongside leaders to create workplaces where employees are valued, engaged, and treated as key stakeholders in decisions that affect them.
Humankind, founded by Samantha 12 years ago, is New Zealand’s leading HR and EX consultancy. The team at Humankind have worked with over 1,000 organisations designing employee experiences that not only enhance engagement but also deliver sustainable organisation performance.
Her latest venture, Excellent, focuses on helping leaders and organisations build EX design (design-led HR) capabilities through learning, certification, and community, equipping organisations to thrive in the modern world of work.
In 2022, Samantha led a group of 34 contributors to co-author The EX Manifesto, which defines key principles of EX design. Signed by leaders in over 30 countries, this document reflects a growing commitment to elevating employee experiences worldwide.
Samantha’s personal vision is that every employee has a voice in shaping the experiences and decisions that impact them. She believes that by treating employees as key stakeholders, organisations will ultimately succeed. She regularly shares her insights with leaders globally, offering practical advice on how to build meaningful, people-centred workplace cultures.
